The Divine Spark within Each One of Us
As the holiday lights provide sparks of joy this time of year, I am reminded of the divine spark within each one of us – no exception.
I wonder how we can more readily remember this glowing light within, long after the holiday lights are put away. How can we ignite more brightly our own divine spark and others’ thoughout the year.
One simple way, I have discovered, is having eye contact with those who cross our paths. Eye contact full of loving expression and silent acknowledgement of their divine spark.
When we acknowledge the divine spark in others it fortifies it within ourselves. Add a pleasant smile to the mix and we are surely to create brightness.
This time of year, I also think of the bright sparkling star that led the way for others to the baby Jesus. How fitting for a bright star to lead others to the luminous Light of the World. To the one who came to light the way for others.
We are as Jesus, as He said. We are to remember our own divine spark and ignite it in others.
As we en-JOY the holiday lights this season, may we always remember our divine spark and shine brightly.
