What Condition is YOUR Condition in?

The Simple lyric, “What condition is my condition in,” randomly popped into my head recently from nowhere (or was it?)

This happens to me from time to time. When it does, I search online for the remaining lyrics because usually it inspires my next blog post.

I found out that the song, Just Dropped in, (to see what condition my condition was in), supposedly placed Kenny Rogers on the map. After reading the lyrics, I actually felt dizzy from its context. I reread them a couple times to try to make heads or tales from it. Unbeknownst to me, “It was written as a song about junkies.” No wonder I felt what I’d imagine to be a bad acid trip. It became a big hit after sung by Kenny Rogers accompanied by a psychedelic video on The Smothers Brothers television show in 1968.

Somewhat disappointed, I concluded that there was no inspiration for my blog from this song. Yet, I couldn’t get “What condition is my condition in” out of my mind; soooooo… here we go:

What condition is your condition in?

We are all influenced, to one degree or another, by our past conditioning; especially conditioning from our childhood. As a matter of fact, prior to age seven, we have very little ability to use discernment. What we hear, see, or experience repeatedly is deeply imprinted into our subconscious minds and hearts as truth. These truths or beliefs (often false) about ourselves and the world we live in can remain with us our entire lives. Unfortunately, some are not so positive.

Many people are on auto-pilot living their lives based on their past conditioning.

They go through life simply reacting without awareness to their patterns that give them same ole, same ole. Our conditioning and beliefs greatly affect us emotionally, physically, and mentally.

The HeartMath Institute has scientifically proven that the heart, not the brain, is the most powerful neural-network within the body. It’s electrode-magnetic field is 5,000 times greater than that of the brain.

The heart is literally communicating with the brain in every given moment of the day.

It is the first organ developed in the human body and has an intelligence all of its own. The heart is also constantly pulsating out and affecting the environment.

“Coherence between our hearts and our brains is the ultimate state of being in experiencing overall emotional, physical, and mental health,” states the HeartMath Institute. Most of us already know in our hearts this to be true and have no need for the science of it. Yet, do we really know how powerful our hearts are?

The ultimate question you must ask yourself is what old conditioning and beliefs are you holding in your heart that are governing your life and affecting the whole? The ones that promote harmony, joy, peace, and love are guaranteed to be truth and establish coherence. All others are perpetuated nonsense that keep us conflicted and confused and affect our health and the world in negative ways. “Simply contemplating compassion and gratitude increases heart and brain coherence, states HeartMath Institute. And may I add, practicing self-compassion is a must!

Don’t worry if you have no idea how to start self-compassion. Trust me, it can be learned.

Take it from someone who had self-criticism down to a fine science – moi! Start small. It’s like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. Be kind to yourself rather than judgmental.

Ask yourself two questions:

>>How would I treat a friend who is going through the same thing or feeling the same way?

>>What do I need right now?

Then treat yourself accordingly.

What condition is YOUR condition in? Is it loving, accepting, non-judgmental, forgiving, compassionate, and kind? Or is it full of criticism, rejection, judgment, non-forgiveness, and grievances? Either for yourself or others?

No matter what your past conditioning consists of or the current condition your condition is in, the truth of the matter is: Your birthright is love!

Love heals all wounds

…and is the most powerful force of all.

Spend time daily opening your heart to God’s love. Place your hands on your heart, focus there, breathe deeply into it until you feeeeeeel love from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Your are worthy of love. You are deserving of love. Period.
